Painting Week: Day 2: "Anchor of Hope"

I was so thrilled to create this painting for the amazing Mari of Mari Annelise Photography! Here's a little peek into her story...
"Molly Swanson of Specs and Wings created this masterpiece for me! I emailed her about a month after both of my grandparents had passed away, really wanting something that would represent the hope that I desperately clung to while we were waiting for their suffering to end so they could finally be together with the Lord. I have always loved what anchors represent, but I don't think it has ever meant as much to me as it does now. I could either endure another tattoo (which Nate wasn't happy about), or I could go this route. Molly did such a wonderful job of taking a little idea and feeling I had and turning it into something I can cherish forever!"

I can't tell you what a blessing it was was to paint this for Mari! Once she shared her story, I couldn't help but be so honored to paint a little piece of her testimony. Her faith and her idea of "Anchoring Yourself to the Lord" truly touched me. I hope this painting will be a reminder for her and a way for her to share her testimony with anyone who enters her home.

Painting like this reminds me of why I love to do this. I hope you were inspired by Mari's story the same way I was!  Is Christ your anchor of hope? If you want to know more about that, feel free to email me here: specsandwings@gmail.com

Happy Tuesday!

Molly, I am already blessed to have this painting in my home. People walk in and ask "Why and anchor? It's pretty, but I don't get it." That is all I need to start to share what God has done for me and means to me! Thank you for your talent and passion!

Thanks Mari! You don't know how excited I am to hear you say that! That's exactly what I was hoping for! :)
