hello autumn!

arts 036

It's that time. My favorite season of the year! There are more reasons to love it than I can count. The smell of cinnamon, boxes of pumpkins at the grocery stores, wearing plaid & scarves & leggings, red leaves, really good foods, cozy candles and lots of pumpkin spice lattes! I also love it because it makes me think about change. I love how God uses this season to teach me.

Well, I'm thinking about my goals for autumn. Here's a little list of 10 things to get me started:

1. Learn to make pumpkin spice lattes at home! I made one last night (see above) but I still need to per-fect the recipe. I'll share it with you when I get it just right!

2. Make new fall line and new LOGO! I'm working some new items for the Specs & Wings etsy shop and the Farmer's Market! I want to express and celebrate what God is doing this season through art. I also have really great plans to change up my logo and makeover my blog.

3. PAINT!!! some how in the craziness of life, painting gets put on the back burner. Truth is, it's one of my very favorite things to do! I just have to make time for it.

4. Finish the books I'm reading. I have this crazy habit of starting books with good intentions of finishing them, but then I don't. I have 3 books started right now that I'd like to finish this season. :) Any suggestions for more?!?

5. Go on adventures with Jeremy. Big or small ones! I love planning to do special things together! Anyone have some fun ideas?

6. Keep an art journal. (I'll be teaching an art journaling class starting soon! I'll have more details asap!)

7. Make our home cozy. I want it to be a warm place to for us to enjoy and for friends to feel welcome! I want to have people over and spend time together!

8. Make roots. We've been settling into married life for a while and we're ready to start getting more involved in our church!

9. Get creative with fashion. This is an exciting one for me! I absolutely love to try new styles, mix and match colors/patterns, and try out new things!

10. Plan for lots of fun times with friends and family! This time of year always makes me so thankful for the people God has so generously placed in my life. I want to make tons of memories together this season!

For your goal number 4, you should go to Davis Mountains State Park, stay overnight at the Indian Lodge, and then write a blog post. I wanted to go there with my family, but if you go first you can give us some great ideas of what there is to see.
