Smells Like Rain!

specs_Page_4[1]

Tomorrow is the first day of May and I'm thinking about summer, as I'm sure y'all are!!! I've been wanting this summer to be an amazing time of refreshing rain in my life and I would love to share it with y'all! I have asked several of my favorite artists to share their stories and art with you on my blog over the next few months. WOW! Just imagine what we can learn from them and how inspired you'll be! (including special guests Elsie Flannigan and Claudine Hellmuth!!!)

I'm also working on some online classes for this summer! I'm SO excited about this!!! I'm going to do 5 weekend workshops online!!! The title that came to mind sort of accidentally is "Smells Like Rain" and each class is going to be about a time to be refreshed through creativity. I think it will be a really cool way to make connections and minister to each other through art! Are you in? It's $10 per class or $40 for all five! (supplies not included) These classes will be through a special password protected blog, so you can enjoy them anywhere and any time! I will also have a Flickr group for us to share our creations with each other! Please comment or email me (molly.row@ttu.edu) if you're thinking about signing up so I can get everything ready. I can't wait!!!

Please join us this summer for a refreshing creative experience!

Here are the classes:

Creative Journaling: May 22-24

This class with stretch your ideas of what scrapbooking and journaling can be! Learn new techniques, find inspiration, and discover fresh creativity. Start a creative journal to hold all of your memories and feel refreshed in your journey!

Prayer Board: June 12-14

In this class we'll each learn a way to be creative in our prayer lives! We'll make a board with interchangeable tags displaying the prayers that are on our hearts. We'll experience new techniques to decorate the tags and after this weekend we'll each have a fresh reminder to pray continuously!

Cards for Healing: June 26-28

Is there anything more encouraging than getting a handmade card in the mail? In this class we'll learn new card making ideas to challenge your idea of the traditional greeting card! You'll learn to create extra special cards from your heart. By the end you'll have several to send out to your friends and one from a fellow classmate!

Worship Journal: July 10-12

Worship God through your creativity! Take time to thank Him, celebrate His beauty, write out your prayers, and meditate on His Word. I'm so excited about sharing this adventure with y'all! Mark your calendar for a weekend to worship God together in our art and remember His goodness in our lives!

Collage Canvas: July 24-26

Need something new to spruce up your dreary walls? If painting and drawing aren't your thing, try collage! Use this class to discover a new goal or motto for the beginning of fall to display in our home or office this year. Or think of something special to share with someone who needs to see how much they mean to you! This is the last class of the summer, don't miss it!

I would love to be in a few of the classes but I am still a little confused how it works?! Is there a specific time we have to get on and to watch the video or is it live or what? I will be taking a summer class also...will it conflict? Do I sound blond? lol...

oh I'm sorry I didn't explain myself very well! I will post pictures and written instructions & exploration ideas to the "Smells Like Rain" blog so that you can visit it any time over the weekend and enjoy the lessons at your own pace! I might try to add video as well, but it will not be live so you can watch it whenever you are ready! once you've completed your creation, I would love for everyone to see it on a Flickr group. I hope this helps, so sorry for the confusion! please email me if you have any more questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thanks for your interest!
